Overview
LTE Passive Radar is an advanced passive surveillance system
that detects and tracks aerial and ground targets by
processing reflections from non-cooperative illumination
sources, such as commercial LTE communication signals. Unlike
conventional radars, it operates without an active
transmitter, ensuring completely covert surveillance..
Developed indigenously by Raddef, the system is based on
state-of-the-art Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) technology.
With 360° azimuth coverage and 70° elevation coverage, it
provides early warning of approaching UAVs and other targets
from all directions. Its cost-effective and discreet nature
makes it ideal for long-term perimeter and area surveillance.
Passive Detection Using LTE Signals
The LTE Passive Radar exploits existing commercial LTE
transmissions as illuminators of opportunity. By analyzing
reflected signals from targets and applying TDOA-based
processing, the system accurately determines the presence,
location, and movement of drones, aircraft, and
vehicles—without emitting any detectable radiation.
This passive operation makes the system immune to detection,
interception, or anti-radiation attacks.
