Overview
The Avalanche Rescue System is a specialized radar-based
solution designed to rapidly and accurately locate people
buried under avalanches, significantly reducing rescue time
during critical emergencies. The system is capable of
detecting buried individuals at distances of up to 30 meters,
supporting fast and effective search-and-rescue operations in
avalanche-prone environments.
By combining harmonic radar technology with a passive
reflector, the system delivers reliable performance without
the limitations of batteries, activation requirements, or
complex setup procedures.
How the Avalanche Rescue System Works
The system operates using a harmonic radar-based detector that
emits highly directional radar signals into the avalanche
debris. When these signals encounter a reflector carried by a
person, they are echoed back to the detector.
A built-in diode doubles the frequency of the returned signal,
enabling the detector to clearly distinguish it from
background reflections. The amplified signal is then converted
into an audio output, allowing rescue personnel to precisely
locate buried individuals even in complex terrain.
The detector is equipped with a harmonic radar transmitter and
receiver designed for high directionality and accuracy :
The reflector is a passive, maintenance-free transponder carried
